Talk About is a series of non-fiction books designed to provide models of everyday English Language for students who are learning English or who have limited English language skills regardless of their age or grade. Talk About introduces your students to the structure, patterns, and vocabulary of everyday language through talking, reading, and writing.

Pearson Big Ideas Series

The BIG IDEA books are designed to make curriculum content in Science and Social Studies accessible to students in elementary schools across Canada. The books are highly visual and written at a level that is appropriate for English language learners (ELLs) and striving readers, which makes them valuable resources for supporting both language and content acquisition. The topics of the books align directly with the grade 4-6 Ontario curriculum but could be used in from grades 3-12.

Oxford Canadian Picture Dictionary

The Oxford Canadian Picture Dictionary offers a (global) curriculum-based picture dictionary that combines rich illustration with writing, speaking, and listening exercises to reinforce learning.

BRIDGING TWO WORLDS: SUPPORTING NEWCOMER AND REFUGEE YOUTH

Bridging Two Worlds provides teachers, school administrators and counsellors with the knowledge and practical resources to deliver more informed and culturally responsive career development and guidance to newcomer and refugee youth from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This book and the study upon which it is based grew out of the Canadian spirit of cultural diversity and inclusivity. Bridging Two Worlds offers data-informed curriculum development and instructional ideas that recognize and address educational gaps as well as cultural or experiential differences that impede progress.

Focussed on students with limited prior schooling (LPS) and arriving from refugee experiences.
